New Issue of BOEM Ocean Science

The latest edition of BOEM’s Ocean Science magazine focuses on acoustics research. It includes articles on technologies for passive acoustic monitoring; research to reduce impacts from seismic surveys and pile driving; marine life behavioral responses to noise; BOEM studies conducted through partnerships; and international collaboration.

Understanding and reducing the impacts of noise on marine life is important to BOEM in meeting its responsibilities to balance energy and mineral development on the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf.
