Lloyd’s Register (LR) announced during Singapore Maritime Week a memorandum of understanding with both ST Engineering Electronics Ltd., an information communications technologies provider and co-creater of Smart City Solutions, and Mitsui & Co., Ltd., the second largest trading house in Japan.

The partners will collaborate on a project titled, “Development of Ocean-going Autonomous Navigation System on a Marine Asset”. The collaboration forms the foundation of the “World’s Largest Ocean-Going Autonomous Vessel Programme” funded by the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore, which was also announced at the event.  —Lloyd’s Register
