NOAA Augments Seaports with Real-Time Information Systems

NOAA recently established new Physical Oceanographic Real-Time Systems (PORTS) at seaports in Miami, Port Everglades and Corpus Christi. PORTS systems provide vessel operators with reliable real-time information about environmental conditions including water levels, currents, waves, salinity, bridge clearance (air gap), winds, air and water temperature and visibility.
