Washington State Develops Plan to Examine Vast Area of Pacific

The state of Washington’s department of ecology has developed a marine spatial plan that covers an area of the Pacific Ocean approximately 6,000 square nautical miles. The plan was developed in cooperation with Washington’s Fish and Wildlife and Natural Resources departments to help make coordinated, science based decisions about proposed new ocean projects and uses. The plan will be submitted as part of Washington’s Coastal Zone Management Program.
