Taiwan: The Latest Hotbed for Offshore Wind Technology

Taiwan has set a goal of 5.5 GW of offshore windpower and plans to install the majority of the infrastructure by the year 2025. In its April 30 contest, Taiwan awarded large contracts to companies in Denmark and Germany, as well as smaller contracts to Taiwanese companies to install portions of its total offshore wind energy project. Bids were submitted by many international companies who viewed the island location as a sure success for wind development. Read more at Reuters.
