Apply for UK Marine Conservation Grants

If you are planning a marine conservation project, you may be eligible to apply for a grant from Sea-Changers, which gives out a number of small grants (generally between £600 and £1,200) twice a year, often supporting grassroots and community-based projects.

The projects funded will achieve one or more of the following objectives:

  • To address the root causes of marine conservation threats and challenges in the U.K.
  • To prevent or reduce negative impacts on U.K. coastal and marine environments and/or species.
  • To add to the body of knowledge about marine conservation threats and challenges in the U.K.

Thanks to a generous grant from The Gardener’s Trust, Sea-Changers also has a specific fund to prevent and address marine-litter issues. Approximately 60 percent of this funding supports projects in Scotland, and 40 percent is allocated elsewhere in the U.K.

The latest application round for both the general and the marine-litter funds closes on September 30, 2019.
