High winds and strong currents brought a cruise ship unusually close to homes along the water near Port Everglades. The 16-deck, 122,000-ton Celebrity Equinox cruise ship loomed close to Bill and Yasmine Todhunter's patio March 3. They recorded the encounter with the cruise ship in hopes the attention will prevent future occurrences that could become huge accidents.

The harbor spokeswoman said due to strong winds and currents at the time, the cruise ship came closer than usual to the side of the channel, as shown in the video.
