UUV Aquabotix Ltd. announced the promotion of Ted Curley to chief development officer of its subsidiary, Aquabotix Technology Corp. Curley has more than 25 years of sales experience in the unmanned underwater industry, including sales at Teledyne Marine. He will be based in Massachusetts, overseeing all facets of the sales and business development functions.

Sven Thy Christensen will develop marine and power markets for Plan B Energy Storage in the Mediterranean region. Christensen brings decades of experience in green solutions for ship efficiency, emissions reduction and power generation including diesel and gas generation, wind and solar energy. Christensen has worked at Odense Maritime Technology and as CEO at MAN Diesel and Turbo in Spain. He holds degrees in mechanical engineering and business administration from the University of Copenhagen.

The University of Alabama, NOAA National Weather Service and NOAA Sea Grant announced Karen Bareford as the national water extension liaison at the National Water Center (NWC). As a member of the NWC and Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant, Bareford will work with NWC scientists and Sea Grant extension professionals to ensure they understand what information decision makers need, as well as developing outreach products based on NWC science. NWC supports collaborative water resources services and resiliency.

iXblue announced changes in leadership as Philippe Debaillon Vesque completes his tenure and leaves to pursue a new venture. Herve Arditty, the chairman and founder of iXcore, is taking over as iXblue CEO, with Fabien Napolitano as chief operating officer and Xavier Montazel and Herve Lefevre as executive vice presidents.

McLaren Engineering Group hired Stephen Famularo, P.E., as its director of marine engineering. Famularo is an engineer and diver who has managed more than $75 million in substructure rehabilitation projects, including the Pier C Homeport at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, as well as developing a Web-based management system for New York City waterfront infrastructure.

The Council of the Confederation of European Maritime Technology Societies presented Damen CEO René Berkvens with the CEMT Award. The council bestows the award annually in recognition of the substantial technological, political or economic contribution made to the success of the European maritime industry by an individual, company or organization.

Offshore geoscience and geotechnical engineering consultancy Cathie Associates announced the opening of its operations in the U.S. with the appointment of Sean McDonald as vice president. McDonald has experience in U.S. offshore wind and oil and gas sectors, with a background in geology, geophysics and geotechnical engineering. He will be responsible for leading expansion in the offshore wind sector.

Well-Safe Solutions announced the appointment of Graeme Murray as legal and commercial director and Glenn Wilson as chief technical officer. Joining Well-Safe from Dolphin Drilling, where he was managing director, Murray has more than 27 years of legal and commercial experience in oil and gas and was previously general counsel, company secretary and vice president for commercial and procurement with Subsea 7. Wilson has worked for Repsol Sinopec as decommissioning program manager and as decommissioning and U.K. operations manager for Hess Ltd. in Aberdeen
