Offshore handling systems specialist, Caley Ocean Systems, has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of John Garratt as engineering sales manager. He has worked at Caley for more than 12 years. As a senior mechanical design engineer with Caley, he specialized in winches, drives and advanced hydraulic system design.

Safety and Survival Systems International Ltd. (3Si) has appointed a new CEO, Andrew Richards. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the marine safety sector. Most recently, he was CEO of the marine refurbishing business Trimline and prior to that the managing director of Cosalt PLC’s Marine Division and global marine and leisure sales director for Survitec.

AXYS has appointed Guillaume Gautier to the position of director of field services based in Nantes, France. This appointment represents the first time that AXYS has made such a senior operations appointment outside of the main office in Canada.

AML Oceanographic welcomed Jackie Guo as sales manager for the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to joining to AML, he was the business development manager for Hawboldt Industries, responsible for promoting and selling customized winch solutions in Asia.

Dr. Peter Ramsay has joined the HYPACK team as business development leader. He has a Ph.D. in marine geophysics and is a Level 1 certified hydrographic surveyor with the Australasian Hydrographic Certification Panel. HYPACK also opened its European office in Germany and appointed Boris Schulze as manager, EMEA. He brings more than 20 years of industry experience and extensive knowledge in hydrographic surveying.

The Link Foundation has received the FAU Board of Trustees Service Award. Marilyn Link, who accepted the award, previously served as secretary, treasurer and trustee of the Link Foundation, dedicated to the advancement of oceanographic, simulation, aerospace and energy research.

Victoria Price joined David Evans and Associates Inc. as an oceanographer and is based out of the Vancouver, Washington, Marine Services Division office. She will focus on analysis of acoustic current velocity measurements and acoustic backscatter analysis of the seafloor, riverbed and water column for habitat mapping, object detection and other scientific studies.

Borets, specializing in electric submersible pump systems, has named William P. Faubel as senior vice president of business development and sales of Borets U.S., located in Houston. He will expand the global client base.
