Strainstall, Barrow-in-Furness, England, has been awarded a contract for its advanced mooring solution, to be installed at the Pengerang Independent Deepwater Petroleum Terminal in Malaysia. Sonardyne, Yateley, England, has been selected to support a deepwater ocean bottom seismic survey of the Red Sea. The S78 project is expected to last nine months and will involve deploying a large network of ocean bottom recording nodes using Sonardyne’s Ranger 2 USBL and a small seismic transponder. Magseis.

MMT, Västra Frölunda, Sweden, has agreed to provide geophysical and geotechnical investigations for both offshore and nearshore. The area to be surveyed is the electrical grid connection of offshore wind farms within German territorial waters in the Northern Sea to the German onshore extra-high-voltage transmission network. ABB, Zurich, Switzerland, will provide four Azipod propulsion power units (52 MW) to be fitted to an LNG tanker for the Yamal project and an Arctic oil tanker. The company is celebrating 25 years since their first installation of an Azipod unit. Undisclosed.

Damen Shipyards Group, Gorinchem, Netherlands, has received an order for a 74-m fishery research vessel. The special vessel has a Silent-A/F/R Class notation and features machinery components that are resiliently mounted to reduce noise and vibrations. Angolan Ministry of Fisheries.

Focal Technologies, Dartmouth, Canada, has been awarded a contract to supply a 6.6-kV electrical slip ring for a tidal turbine. The ring transmits 2 MW of power and control signals across the turret mooring system to explore cable on the seabed, and an integrated absolute rotary encoder facilitates disconnection/connection operations. Bibby Offshore, Aberdeen, Scotland, has agreed to a multimillion-pound contract with an independent U.K.-based E&P company to provide air diving and ROV inspection and construction services across five of its North Sea assets. Bibby will utilize several vessels including its construction support vessel Olympic Ares, diving support vessel Bibby Topaz and subsea support and construction vesselOlympic Bibby. Undisclosed.

Filtersafe, Tefen Industrial Zone, Israel, has been selected to supply key elements of ballast systems for use in 15 Topaz vessels being built by VARD in Romania and Vietnam. The BS-050 filter is a single-screen, horizontal configuration filter that is compact and has a very low flush-flow rate. Optimarin.

Unique Group, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, has announced orders for two of its HYDRA ABS Nitrox Surface Dive-ROV Systems to a client in Nigeria. The systems each comprise a dive-ROV control and chamber container, machinery container, air and nitrox 10-ft. HP gas storage containers, two single-basket LARS, and an SRP boat. Undisclosed.

Kongsberg Maritime, Kongsberg, Norway, has been awarded contracts worth more than NOK 520 million to cover deliveries to two semisubmersible heavy-lift and accommodation vessels. Kongsberg Maritime Engineering will provide all engineering, procurement and project management, while Kongsberg Maritime will supply everything from switchboards to safety technology. Peterson, Den Helder, Netherlands, has been awarded two long-term contracts to provide logistics support for the Dudgeon offshore wind farm in the southern North Sea. The logistics include ship agency services, provisions delivery and transportation of personnel for walk-to-work security. Statoil.

ASV, Portchester, England, has secured orders for six new USVs. The vehicles will be used in a multiple autonomous vehicle program combining USVs and AUVs to conduct wide-area, high-resolution surveys. SeaTrepid DeepSea.
