Taking the helm of GAC (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) North America Logistics, Claus Schensema has been appointed managing director. Schensema brings 25 years of experience in shipping and logistics to his new role. He has a passion for philanthropy, particularly animal welfare, the environment and underprivileged children.

Claxton Engineering Services (Great Yarmouth, England) has appointed Martin Jolley as vice president sales and commercial to spearhead its global sales and commercial strategy. Providing leadership to the company's sales, marketing, commercial and tendering divisions, Jolley will be based in the head office.

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) has appointed James Bellingham as the first director of its Center for Marine Robotics. He will come to WHOI this fall 2014 from the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, where he was director of engineering and chief technologist.

Martin Charles was appointed as regional general manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Aquatic Engineering & Construction Ltd. (Aberdeen, Scotland). He will lead market development and project delivery across the region.

L-3 Klein Associates Inc. (Salem, New Hampshire) has added Tyson Alvanos to the marketing and technical sales group. Alvanos has a background as a senior technical sales engineer in the semiconductor, solar LED and medical product applications fields. He will support international sales.

Nicole Squartino is the new creative marketing director for OceanLED (Hinckley, England), and Oscar Socarras is the company's new territory sales manager. Both will be working to strengthen strategy, sales and further develop a growing portfolio of accounts.

PMI Industries Inc. (Cleveland, Ohio) announced that Phil Zivich was promoted to manager, inside sales/customer service. Zivich is responsible for managing PMI's customer-facing timely responses and day-to-day interaction. He supports PMI's sales and service organization.

Modus Seabed Intervention Ltd. (Durham, England) recently appointed an AUV development manager. Angus Cooper has joined Modus to spearhead the company's growth plans in the deployment of AUV services. Cooper has a long, proven track record in the offshore sector.

Proserv (Aberdeen, Scotland) has named two vice presidents to its senior management team. Paul Douglas has been promoted to the role of VP operations, with Bruce Stuart joining Proserv as VP sales and business development for Europe and West Africa. Douglas will take overall responsibility for two of Proserv's facilities.
