Smith

Bluefin Robotics (Quincy, Massachusetts) named Jeffrey M. Smith as its chief operating officer (COO). A mechanical engineer by training, Smith spent 15 years with General Dynamics prior to joining Bluefin in 2008 as its director of programs. As COO, he will lead Bluefin’s developmental programs and growth in the defense sector.

Oil States MCS Ltd. (Barrow-in-Furness, England) appointed in March Nick Jones as general manager of its Barrow-in-Furness facility, a role formerly held by Owen Osmotherley. He has worked at the company since 1990, serving as mechanical design engineer and engineering manager.

Howard M. Dratler, formerly CEO of Panzura Inc. joined Liquid Robotics (Sunnyvale, California) in April as executive vice president of global sales. Dratler has experience in storage virtualization, content management, data warehousing, software as a service and cloud storage.

Mark W. Fleming was appointed in May to the newly created position as Video­Ray LLC’s (Phoenixville, Pennsylvania) business development manager for military and government sales. He will be responsible for underwater solutions for ship hull, pier and dock inspection and response. During his 30 years in the U.S. Navy, Fleming served with distinction in explosive ordnance disposal mobile units.

Flemming Bilgaard Pedersen was appointed to EIVA A/S’s (Hasselager, Denmark) board of directors in April. He recently retired as managing director and CEO of Ramboll Group, where he worked for nearly 40 years.

Acteon (Norfolk, England) appointed in April Lester Clark as vice president. He most recently worked at Baker Hughes as director of drilling systems in Russia’s Caspian region and has more than 20 years of industry experience.

Shinobu Suzuki was named in April as Marlink’s (Lysaker, Norway) country manager for Japan. Based in Marlink’s Tokyo, Japan, office, Suzuki will be responsible for the company’s Japanese and Korean markets and customer base. She has worked in the maritime communications field for 26 years.

Stork Technical Services Holding BV (Utrecht, Netherlands) in April named Dave Workman chief operating officer and Erik-Jan Bijvank as senior vice president for the U.K. and Africa. Workman was CEO of RBG, which Stork acquired in May 2011, for the past three years. Bijvank joined Stork in 1999 and was vice president of asset management for the past two years.
