Commercial Marine Expo

Commercial Marine Expo (CME), a regional B2B trade show serving commercial marine and commercial fishing markets on the Atlantic seaboard, will return to the State Pier in New Bedford, Massachusetts, June 11 to 12, 2014.

CME is held on even-numbered years in New Bedford.

“Tug and barge operations, fire, police and harbor security, ferry, freight, pilot and port operations will play major roles at CME 2014, as well as commercial fishing and fish processing,” reports Ted Hugger, the show director.

“New Bedford is also ground zero for the developing Cape Wind project, and will host a huge commercial marine support segment for the project,” he said.

CME will encompass more than 50,000 square feet of indoor exhibit space, 20,000 square feet of outside display space on the pier apron, and 1,000 linear feet of deep-water pier frontage for large boats and ships, plus floating docks for smaller craft.

“Attendee interest is very strong for CME 2014,” Hugger adds. “Preregistrations by qualified trade professionals are up 113 percent from our 2012 numbers at this time, with our big marketing push just rolling out.”

The two-day event will feature the equipment, gear and technology vital to coastal and blue-water commercial vessel operators and industry personnel.

“CME is unique,” Hugger explains.

“It is the only in-water commercial marine show in North America. New Bedford’s State Pier location will allow our exhibitors to demonstrate products and processes inside or outside, and to display and operate ships and boats from the piers and docks.”

Participants
More than 200 companies are expected to take part in the trade-only exhibition, drawing commercial marine and commercial fishing professionals to the heart of New Bedford’s working waterfront.

The Northeast region represents a robust presence in every segment, including major U.S. port authorities and engineers; shipbuilding and repair; marine engineers and architects; and owners and operators of, and service-providers to: tug and push boats, commercial fishing boats, passenger and vehicle ferries, patrol, police and fire boats, excursion vessels, military and Coast Guard vessels, Homeland Security vessels, diving and salvage vessels, research and education vessels, and offshore wind support.

A limited number of premium exhibit spaces are available. Admission is free to qualified industry professionals who preregister before June 4, 2014.
