Underwater Intervention 2012
UI 2012, organizers said, will continue attracting top industry leaders in commercial diving, ROVs, AUVs, oil and gas, marine construction, shipwreck exploration and salvage, submersibles, communications, bridges and dams, nuclear and hydro energy, ocean mining, oceanography and marine technology.
This year’s technical program will have presentations covering cutting-edge advancements in technology and new equipment. Highlights include advanced electronic technologies for divers; an American Electric Power contract training program; Analox Hyper-Gas MkII training; a case study of remote sensing in construction; generating 3D models from underwater video; lithium-ion battery system for manned underwater vehicles; bathymetry and biotope surveys in the Red Sea; marine debris and underwater technology; and navy hull inspections.
Other programs include an ROV competition, work-class ROV repair in less than 60 minutes, integrating equipment to work-class ROVs and a technical program on fiber-optic connectivity. Special events for UI 2012 begin on the evening of January 23 on the show floor with the traditional early-bird reception, which features food, music and networking opportunities.
UI Awards Dinner
The UI Committee will host the UI Awards Dinner on the evening of January 24 at the Marriott Convention Center Hotel Ballroom. This dinner highlights the annual awards and scholarships given out by the MTS ROV Committee and the ADCI. The ADCI will present its Commercial Diving Hall of Fame Inductees Class of 2012. A special dinner for the group, with wine at table, will be prepared for $85 per person. Business attire is requested.
